Certificate Technical Degree

Inspection technologists perform nondestructive inspection of material, parts, components, and/or pressurized systems. They use a blend of quality assurance and materials science to make sure aircraft, chemical plants, pipelines, and bridges are structurally sound.. Hands-on classroom and laboratory training will prepare you for national certifications and an exciting, in-demand career.

Job opportunities are diverse, so you can pick your industry or career path. As a program graduate, you may work in industries such as petrochemical, maritime,  fabrication, welding, pipeline, turbines, aerospace, and more. Some job titles include:

  • UT Flaw Sizing and Phased Array Inspectors PAUT
  • AWS - Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI)

Technical Degree
The Associate of Applied Science degree prepares you for an entry-level career. Learn through the classroom and hands-on training in the testing, inspection, and quality fields. In your second year, you’ll focus on the inspection of welds, pressure vessels, pressure piping, valves, and advanced metallurgical techniques.
Length 2 Years
If you're studying full-time, you can complete the 60 credits for this program in five terms, including a summer term.

Certificate
The Level 2 Certificate prepares you for the degree program, an entry-level career, or advancement in your current career. You’ll learn in both the classroom and through hands-on training in the testing, inspection, and quality fields. Advanced Subjects for Certification

The following three courses require you to have five years of experience before you can sit for a certification exam. The College designed the courses for both those wanting to gain experience and those preparing to sit for exams.
