Our courses in Applied Trades will hone your skills in welding, truck driving, pipefitting, and HVAC with hands-on learning and training, all while following industry-recognized standards.

Diesel Technology Student

Diesel

Some of the biggest transporters of goods and services run on diesel, and just like regular engines, need mechanics to keep them on the road. Get your head start in the diesel industry with our courses in Diesel Engine I & II, Preventative Maintenance, and Electronic Control. Develop new skills to help keep our big rigs running right.

An electric career deserves an electric education. At San Jac, you'll get just that. Get your start in the field or expand upon your expertise alongside our professors, and do it all at our state-of-the-art LyondellBasell Center for Petrochemical, Energy, & Technology.

Whether you're feeling like it's getting hot in here or ice ice baby, we have an extremely cool program that's hot with interest. Learn beginner and advanced residential and light commercial Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) knowledge and skills with San Jac's HVAC / Refrigeration program. Courses will help students gain abilities in electrical and mechanical controls and systems, refrigeration, installation, and customer service.

Build the foundation for a safer workplace with our Occupational Safety training. This hands-on program equips you with essential skills to recognize hazards, understand safety regulations, and support effective safety practices across a variety of industries. Whether you’re starting a new career or advancing in your field, this course provides practical safety training that employers value.

Truck Driving

Drive your career to new places with our Truck Driving program. Coordinated with the Department of Transportation, you'll learn the necessary skills to safe driving practices with behind-the-wheel instruction in both city and highway conditions along your journey of becoming a professional truck driver.
Welder

Welding

Our welding program provides instruction for all positions on carbon and stainless steel plate and pipe, using the following multiple processes: 

  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) “Stick” 
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) “MIG” 
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) “TIG” 
  • Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) processes, plus Oxy-Fuels

Take Advantage of Linked Courses

Linked courses are a great flexible option! You can take a continuing education course, then later you can apply the course to your degree or certificate. It's helpful if you're not sure you want to pursue a degree or certificate, but want to get started with a class. There are a couple of things to know. Enrollment in linked courses is limited, you are exempt from taking the TSI assessment, and courses adhere to the CPD refund policy.
