On-campus Counselors

Mental health counseling and support services are offered to all San Jacinto College students 18 years of age or older. All services are confidential – we won’t release information without written consent, except in the case of a life-threatening emergency or when it is required by law.

Counseling FAQs

 

Counseling services include academic and personal counseling, time management and study skills assistance, learning style assessments, career assessments and counseling, strategies for personal growth and development, adjustment to life crisis, and referrals to outside agencies for needed services.

Yes! According to a four-year study of college students who received counseling, 91% thought that their academic performance had improved after counseling and 98% of these students said that counseling helped them deal more effectively with their problems (Rickinson, 1998).

The counselors can refer you to affordable and local counseling services

 

No. There is no fee charged when you receive counseling at San Jacinto College. If you are referred to another agency for counseling services, however, that agency may have fees.
